Previously, our client approached us to update their outdated website. The original hosting platform and plugins were old and needed an urgent reform. In fact, these issues exposed the site to security flaws and potential hacking attacks. To solve this, we created a brand new website using WooCommerce and Odoo CRM to ensure a secure and modern experience.

How the project started

Destinos Asiáticos specializes in travel to Asia and Oceania, offering more than 27 different destinations. To begin, our team conducted an extensive study of the website architecture and reorganized the existing information. During this process, we gathered all the client’s needs to decide which elements to keep, discard, or improve.

Findings

After our initial analysis, we identified the most important goals for this project:

  • Redesign the website: Focus on responsive design and usability.
  • Centralize Management: Separate the CRM (Contact Management) from the main website for better efficiency.
  • Platform Migration: Move to an updated, secure, and user-friendly system.

Our 9-Step Development Process

To ensure a successful transition, we divided the project into nine strategic stages. By following this structured workflow, our team managed to address both technical and creative requirements efficiently:

  1. Backend Assessment: We analyzed technologies, integrations, and digital solutions.
  2. Frontend Planning: We defined branding, color hierarchies, and font sizes.
  3. User Experience: We created wireframes and detailed user flows.
  4. Data Migration: Our team migrated all old content to WordPress, including travels and blog posts.
  5. SEO Optimization: We modified the URL taxonomy to improve search engine rankings.
  6. E-Commerce Setup: We developed the online store using WordPress and WooCommerce.
  7. CRM Integration: We linked Odoo CRM directly with the customer’s website.
  8. Quality Assurance: We conducted usability testing on all functionalities.
  9. Final Delivery: We launched the beta version and completed the project delivery.

The Solution: A Faster and More Secure Ecosystem

Based on our research, we prepared a detailed usability report. This document gives the client a clear insight into the necessary changes to improve the user experience. Furthermore, it helps define the general roadmap for the next steps.

This report is highly useful for the wireframe and user flow stages. Consequently, we built the new structure based on the specific points raised during our analysis.

Our team developed the new platform using WordPress, WooCommerce, and Odoo CRM. We fully customized these open-source tools to meet the needs of both the client and their users. In addition, we ensured the complete migration of all blog content, trips, and user data. In total, we managed over 400 trips and URLs.

As a result, the website is now lighter, faster, and easier to navigate. Ultimately, this improved performance ensures a secure environment that is much easier for the client to manage.
